live in zhangjiakou as swedish?

Question

If we go there for two years for living from Sweden. Perhaps I got a contract for work in your city. Normaly the western people lives in Bejing and travel from Monday to ZH and backto Bej on Freiday. But me and my wife will live in Zhangjiakou if it possible.Then I don't have to travel so much and we learn more lokal people and there culture more. Do you have any tip what we should think about before this or it that a good idea?Have a good time and thank you if you have some respons!Best Regards  Vesa

Hi, dear Vesa, I do agree with you. It is so inconvenient if you stay in Beijing but work in this city. This city is also kind to foreigners.

I have been living in the city for past 1 year . The city is good , small , & cheap living . You can go to Beijing by Train or by the Bus which will take 2-3 hrs . I spent 2 years in Dalian . Later i traveled to Nanjing , Anhui , Urumqi , Beijing & now Hebei Zhangjiakou . City consists of many Old People so as a Young person if you watched many other cities of China , you will feel not that good to stay lol . but it  is a normal city . Has Parkson , tesco , KFC , Mac-d , Pizza Hut ( Tesco , Pizza hut just built now ) & local Marts . Hope you will enjoy your stay here . have a nice time .  Chinese Culture is just in the TV . Thats what my Chinese Friend told me  . No Offensive , not my words , but Natives of China . Specially Youth .
