About:Chinese Etiquette

We are invited to a private dinner by a high level official. What present is appropriate to bring?

Four couples have been invited to a private dinner at the residence of a high level person. What would be a proper gift to bring to this dinner ?

I think wine is suggested. You can take high quality alcohol or take good champagne.
