bus and station location from huangshan to wuxi

Hi, after touring Hongcun, what is the best way to travel to Wuxi 3 kingdom city? Should I go back to Tunxi or Tangkou to take the bus to wuxi? What is the bus schedule and the ticket price? What is the name of the bus station in Tunxi/Tangkou and the one in wuxi where the bus willl arrive?
Similiarly, could you also help me with the bus schedules and stations (boarding and alighting) if I travel from 1)wuxi to suzhou (humble administrator garden) and 2)suzhou to shanghai (the bund)?
I hope you can help me with some budget hotels/inns/hostels with private rooms?

Hi, Tunxi Bus Station it is. But only one bus runs to Wuxi every day, departing around 06:20-06:30. Therefore, if you wanna take the bus, you'd better stay around the bus station one night before. The ticket costs about CNY110 and the bus will arrive at Wuxi General Bus Station.

From Wuxi to Suzhou, the best way should be to take trains. You will get to your destination city in about 20min. It costs about CNY20-30. If you also wish to take bus, go to Wuxi City Bus Station. Many buses run for the journey and the bus fare is only about CNY3.

From Suzhou to Shanghai, you can catch the bus at Suzhou North Bus Station, The buses run from 07:30 to 19:40 every 40min to 1h. It costs about CNY 33 and takes about 1h. The buses will arrive at Shanghai South Bus Station.

May help and good luck!

Hi alan, thks for yr advice! You mentioned there is only one bus from Tunxi Bus Station to Wuxi every day- how long does the bus journey take? How is the scenery along the way like? Is it much faster to take a train instead - do I take train from Tunxi also?
As for Wuxi to Suzhou, if I take the bus from Wuxi City Bus Station, which bus station will I arrive at in Suzhou?
From Suzhou to Shanghai, if I take the D or K train, which rail station do I arrive in Shanghai and how much is the fare and time taken for the journey?

Hi, yes. Only one direct long-distance bus can take you to Wuxi. The whole journey takes about 4.5h. The scenery along the way can be ok for enjoyment.
If you take a train, it takes around 10h in total and also you cannot take it in Tunxi directly, it should be taken at Huangshan Railway Station.

Sorry to mislead you by ticket fare of CNY3 by bus from Wuxi to Suzhou. It should be CNY16-13. Actually, the buses from Wuxi Bus Station can take you to Suzhou West, North or South Bus Staton.

From Suzhou to Shanghai by train, D trains will reach Hongqiao Train Station and K trains usually lead to Shanghai South Railway Station. By k train, it takes about 1.5 h or a little longer and the ticket fare is CNY 16 for hard seat.
While by D train, the whole journey takes nearly half and hour and costs CNY26 for second class seat and CNY31 for first class seat.

Good day,
Alan

Hi Alan, yr advice is most helpful. Thank you! You mentioned that a train from Huangshan to Wuxi takes around 10h in total and also you cannot take it in Tunxi directly, it should be taken at Huangshan Railway Station- how much is the second class fare and can I buy it just before boarding the train if I travel 2 weeks before Christmas? In fact is there any train station in Tunxi? If I decide to travel by bus from Tunxi to Suzhou directly, is this the same and only bus as the one you mentioned above to Wuxi? Is there also only one train running to Suzhou/Wuxi per day? Regards

Hi, actually, the Tunxi Railway Station is Huangshan Sttaion. They are the same, but you have to reach there from Tunxi first.
For the two K trains, there is no first or second class seat. The fare is as follows:
hard seat: CNY 76; soft seat: CNY112; hard sleeper: CNY130-145 and soft sleeper: CNY200-215. You can surely buy the ticket when you are boarding. But if it is the high season of Huangshan, you'd better book the ticket in advance in case.

Right, it is the bus to Wuxi, departing around 06:20-06:30. Maybe a little later, you can also take the one to Yancheng, along the way of which Wuxi is one of the middle stops. It departs at 06:50.

Two trains run to Suzhou. They actually are the same ones as the trains to Wuxi: K8420/K8417 and K784/K781.

Hope I do not make you confused.
