Holiday in Shanxi Province

I plan to fly from Singapore to Tianjin in the middle of next month. From there I want to vist Datong, Taiyuan and Pinyao in Shanxi Provice. My plan is to travel the whole journey by train including the trip back to Tianjin. How should I plan my holiday and which city should I visit first in order to save time and money.
