single entry visa but need to fly back into china due to a change in flight arrangments

I have a single entry visa which covers my time from Hong Kong to Beijing. I have just been informed that my flight from Japan ( osaka) to Manila requires a 24 hour stop over in China. Do i therefore require a double entry? or am i classed as in transit within 24 hours? Also the airline has offered to pay for accomodation due to the change in flight plan however as i then classed as being in the country even though it would be at the airport?

Is your stopover is just 24 hous? Visa is not required if you will depart within 24 hours without leaving the airport. Otherwise, you need another entry.
