Working for an off shore company while living in China

I would like to go live with my girlfriend in China for a couple of years.
The company I work for in New Zealand has agreed to let me work for them remotely.
What type of visa do I need? Also would I need a Temporary Residence Permit?
How do I go about getting one as an individual that is not working for a company in China?

Hi,you can try to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa L. If you get it, the temporary residence permit is not required. Since you are not married, you can not get a family visit visa with long duration.
