Bus from sea world (Shekou) to Guangzhou

Hi, curently I stay in sea world (Shekou) for business trip. I plan to travel to GZ next weekend. What is the best transport for me if I want to go on afternoon (after office hours)...? Bus or train? And where it will be stop? And what is your recomendation for the cheap hotel to stay there, but with best location to make me easier for travelling around guang zhou by walking? please advise. thanks
