About:China Visa on Arrival

China visa required but no time to apply for Australian working in Singapore

My colleague's brother has just passed away and is supposed to return home soon to attend the funeral. My colleague has requested her passport to be returned to her from China embassy so that she can fly off anytime to attend funeral. However, the autopsy is still being done and funeral date not set yet which will be within next few days. Her brother is in Australia while she is in Singapore and with the Chinese PHs from 1st Oct till 8 Oct, she is not able to apply China Visa here in time.
Can she apply upon arrival in Tianjin based on humanity grounds??
Please kindly advise urgently as she has to fly into Tianjin on 7 Oct.

Thanks Derek. She would be in Asutralia about 5 days. She should be returning to Australia these 2 days. Her trip to Tianjin is 7 Oct. If she applies on 4th Oct, can she get it on 5th since 1st to 3rd is a holiday as in China Embassy in Australia's website?
