Shanghai to Hangzhou train tickets

Hi would like to check, do we need to book the tickets in advance online? If yes, approximately how many days? Also, how much does the G Train 1st Class tickets cost from Shanghai to Hangzhou?

You had better book it 12 days before departure at least, when the tickets will be released. The fare for first class seat is CNY124/US$20.
