Do you mean the airport shuttle bus ticket?
If so, absolutely yes because there are many direct long-distance buses for Suzhou at Pudong Airport.0

Sorry for the bad question— I am flying into Pudong and then staying overnight in Shanghai - the next day I want to take the fats train to Suzhou but a friend said you cnt just go to the station and buy a ticket on the day - is that true?
I thought i could buy a train ticket for the next dat when I was at the Maglev Station or when I get off at the other end?

Well, there are direct long-distance buses running from Pudong Airport to Suzhou, operating from 10:00 to 20:00 every about 40 min. Why not take the buses?
Anyway, if you want to take the fast train, the train ticket can be bought ahead, not just on that day. So no need to worry about the ticket.0
