Application for Visa China w/WP

I'm Malaysian. I will going China on 20th October 2012 and come back Singapore on 28th October 2012. Current my Work Permit is going to expire on 27th October 2012, would that be affecting my VISA application?

Dear May, you are required to provide your valid Singapore WP for visa application there. If it expires, you may not able to get visa in Singapore.
