About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

Best way to prevent from pickpocketing and theft during the Guangzhou trip.

I will be going on my first trip to Guanghzho and China. We will be staying with my Aunt and cousins. While shopping and site seeing, would it be wise to wear a money belt with my spending money or carry small amounts of money in various pockets? Should I carry ID around with me - passport or drivers license? My Chinese and Mandarin is very minimal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The best advice I can offer you is when traveling – be aware. Don’t talk to strangers. Don’t carry large amounts of cash with you. Don’t give your life savings away – the less cash you have on your person, the better. Wear a money belt. Don’t make yourself an obvious target. When you know where you’ll be traveling, do some research on the Internet. Check travel forums and on-line guidebooks for the latest up-to-date information on current pickpocket scams.
