About:Chinese Consulates in Thailand

i live in udon thani. Can i apply for a tourist visa in ChiangMai, or must i go to Bangkok

I am American. Is this the same for Thai nationals living in Udon Thani?

It is the same office for you and the local Thai people living in Udon Thani, but you have to provide additional documents such as your Thai residence permit and supplementary visa application form.

But, is it OK for udon thani people to go to ChiangMai (rather than to Bangkok)?
Either one - CM or BKK - is OK, for both Americans and Thais?

No, you can only submit visa application to the embassy or consulate which hold consular jurisdiction of udon Thani.

You need to submit your application to the embassy in Bangkok.
