About:China Customs Declaration

Personal Ipad 3

I will be traveling to China in a few weeks. I would like to bring my Ipad along on the trip for personal use but was told that I will be required to pay tax on it upon entry. Is it true? If so how much? I have also read that if I declare the ipad when entering & leaving then I will not be taxed. So confused.

Well, Sam, according to Chinese regulations, you have to declare, but you do not need to pay the duty for your personal item.
