Celebrating the Gluten Rice Ball? Do you mean celebrating the Lantern Festival?
Actually, the gluten rice ball is just a kind of food during the Lantern Festival in China. We celebrate it for memorising. It is also the first full moon day in Chinese lunar calendar. People do not have to obey the complex rules during the New Year's time, so people celebrate it.2
