About:China Great Wall

Which are the closest parts of the Great Wall to visit from the city of Beijing?

I am hoping to visit Beijing in November 2012, and would like to include a visit to the Great Wall. I was hoping someone could tell me which parts are closest to the main city, and which are the most desirable parts to visit.

Badaling Great Wall is the most well-preserved section of the Great Wall. It is situated in Yanqing County, over 70 kilometres (43 miles) north of Beijing. It is the most desirable part of the Great Wall to visit. Additionally, it has drawn tens of millions of tourists both from home and abroad.
