Advanced ticket purchase

Guilin train station has advanced ticket purchase office where I can buy tickets all over China? Example, can I buy there train tickets 7 days in advance from Beijing to Datong?

Well, you can buy the train ticket all over China wherever there is a railway station or a train ticket office. For convenience, I suggest you buy a ticket online. The website below may help you a lot:

Well, I had different experience when I travelled in China 3 years ago. I could buy the train tickets only in the departure City. I could not buy train tickets in Huangshan for a train that departed from Xian to Chengdu. I was told that only at the biggest cities (Beijing, Shanghai) train stations they have advanced ticket offices where I could by it 10 days in advance.
