registration of the marriage between a Chinese citizen and a US citizen

What documents are needed to obtain the registration of the marriage between a US and a Chinese citizen? The marriage was performed in Florida, USA but, apparently it needs to be recorded in the PRC for me to obtain a residency permit. What steps do I need to follow?

Thank you for your prompt assistance

As for your marriage registeration in Florida, USA, you should consult your local faoreign affairs office. Normally, both of you have to provide your birth certificates and certificate of single status.

To make your marriage legal in PRC, you have to have yoru marriage publicized at your local Notary public, and then have it authenticated by the Consulate General of China in Houston. Finally, you can register your marriage at the Chinese citizen's home place.
