just want to ask about my visa

hi i lost my passport here in beijing and reported it already to local police and in PSB they gave me only 30 days to get a replacement of my passport and i applied now to our embassy already but the processing of lost passport is 6weeks to 8 weeks,what would i do? i have L-visa and will expire on 22 December 2012,, I still didnt do any residence permit coz i am just living with my friends and not for only 1 friend,,almost everyday or every other day different friend inviting me to their house,,now even i want to register and i have friend want me to use her home as my residency but my passport is not been release from our embassy what will i do,,i only have now the copy of my passport and the reciept of my application for my lost passport.pls give me an advice on what to do coz i never asked my friends here and i want to ask directly to the one who can answer it..thank u and i will wait for reply.
