Shanghai transit visa

Hi,
I am travelling on China Eastern from Delhi to Japan. I have a six hour stopover in Pudong. Will I need a transit Visa? I return to India after 5 weeks with my flight landing at Hongqiao and departing from Pudong. The stopover is again less than 6 hours. Do I need a visa for this leg as well? Can I get a visa on arrival? Do airlines provide transfer services for passengers?

On your way to Japan, visa is not required if you will not leave the airport. But on your way back, you need a transit visa if you will change airports in Shanghai. Visa can not be got on arrival. There are airport bus between Pudong airport and Hongqiao airport. Anyway, you'd better contact your airline company for more details.

I am confused now. I spoke to the customer representative at China Eastern and was told that I could get a visa on arrival for both legs of my journey. What do I do? Can I apply for a transit visa from the Chinese Embassy in Japan?
