Tourist visa about to expire?

I'm in China at the moment and my tourist visa is about to expire. I am enjoying China and the lifestyle and am not ready to leave. Can I take a side trip to Bangkok and get a 3 month tourist visa extension and if so, what do I need to take with me to the Embassy.

You can extend your tourist visa at local PSB in China without leaving.
