Holiday during Chinese New Year

I'm planning for a holiday to Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Jinmen during the Chinese New Year in Feb 2013. Will the shops be opened for business?

Generally speaking, before Jan. 7th in China lunar calendar, there are just a few shops opening for business. After Jan. 7th, most shops gradually open one by one.
