About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

Can Ohioans go to Chicago China visa office for their China visa?

Ohio is not listed as within the district for Chicago China Visa office. Instead, Ohio is under NY district. But the drive to Chicago from Ohio is much less than going to NYC. Can people living in Ohio get their visa in Chicago? I am guessing they should be able to, because the visa agents can do that. But I am not sure about the rule for people applying in person. Would you advise please.

Thanks,
CC from Ohio

In principle, you should apply for the China visa from the Consulate General of China in New York. However, you can still have a try to do the application in Chicago if it is near and convenient for you. To be frank, it all depends on the visa officers there.
