Is it difficult to get transportation services from huairou to mutianyu? Approximately how much should they charge me for either the taxi or mini-bus? Thanks.

Not exactly, you can take bus no. 916 Branch Line (to Xiangshui Lake) or 936 Branch Line (to Tiekuangyu Station) at Huairou North Street. Then you can get off at Mutianyuhuandao Station and walk to the ticket office of Mutianyu Great Wall. If you take a taxi or minibus, it may cost about CNY 50-60 per person.
