About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

booked on a cruise departing nov2012 departs from beijing, then also visiting shanghai, what kind of

visa do i require and how much is it?

You mean you will enter China first, and then take a cruise from Beijing to Shanghai, or you will take an international cruise which will stop at Beijing and Shanghai when passing by China? I have to make it clear, since the thing is different.

Then you may just apply for a single entry China tourist visa for this. The visa fee is £30.
