about money declaration

Hi ,after I have declared to the customs that I have more than US 5000 or 20000 RMB which is allowed by the authority for foreigners flying into China,
1)will I be asked by the customs to go one side for questioning as to why I need to bring so much money into China?
2)what happens to the excess money that I have declared?will the customs allow me to bring into China or will they confiscate the extra ?
need these two answers badly.Thank you

5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) or 20,000 CNY is permitted. If you have more than this amount, related documents will be needed and you need to declare to the customs. Then you can bring it into China.
