What type of Visa do we need to stay in China for 2 weeks to install furnishings for a Chinese family

You can apply for a tourist visa, it is easier. Also, you can apply for a business visa if you have invitation letter from China. Both tourist visa and business visa allows 30 days stay in China on a single entry.
