About:Embassy & Consulates of U.S.A. in China

Is it safe to travel to Beijing amid the flooding? We fly out of US this Monday?

29 US citizens will be boarding a plane in Chicago, IL, USA on this Monday, July 30 for an educational tour. Several days in Beijing, then flying to Xian and then a flight to Shanghai. Please give us your honest answer when considering the current condition of Beijing with the flooding and air port delays and people stranded at the air port. We appreciate your immediate response. Thank you.

Don't worry, it is safe to fly to Beijing now. Air traffic and almost all street traffic resumed days ago. No passenger is stranded at the airport now. According to weather forecast today, there will be few showers during next two weeks.
