About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Could I change my travel visa to business or work visa? or extend the staying duration to 6months?

Hi! I'm a Malaysian and I've just graduated from a University in Shanghai, China. I have a travel visa with multiple entries for 30days per entry. Is it possible for me to extend my visa duration from 30 days to 6 months? I wish to work in Shanghai but I'm informed that I can't get a work visa without working experience in Shanghai. What can I do in this situation? Thank you.

If you wanna to work in Shanghai, you must apply for a China work visa. Otherwise, you will be expelled from China once discoveredm, which will further affect your next China visa application. If your employer are state-owned or state-controlled, I think there is the spossibility for you to change your present L visa to work visa without leaving China.

I advise you find an offer in Shanghai first, and then go back to your home country to apply for a China work visa, and finally enter to China to work there.
