passport expiry

I have UK passport that expires in May 2013. (2013-05-28) I am considering visiting China later this year. I may stay until after 2012-11-28. Do I need to apply for a new passport before I travel to China? If I do go, and plan to return home before Nov 28, but then change my mind & decide to stay longer, could I renew my passport while in China? I would probably be in Beijing so could visit the British Embassy if necessary. I will probably be on a tourist visa.

Well I sugguest you to renew your passport before applying for the chinese visa.

I agree with Roshan. You are right that you can renew your passport when you are in China, but how about the China visa on your present visa?
