Actually, the bars in that city are classified into several types.
1. Popular bars for business people and young people: Wuchang Bo Da is suggested. In the area near Xinhua Lu and Taibei Lu can you find more.
2. White Collar Bar for White-collar workers, businessmen, foreigners, hotel guests: Red Lover (Hong Se Lian Ren) and Blue Sky (Lan Se Tian Kong) are suggsted.
3. Bars for students.

I found a new wine bar/lounge near the Marco Polo Hotel in Hankou opened by a former model who just moved back from Shanghai - great vibe, nice furniture, decent wine, good music. French girl was serving... It's called Chloe and is at 145 PoYang Street (near Li Huang Pi Rd) in the middle of the former Russian concession. Good for a glass of wine if you want a lounge-like setting before you go crush it at the clubs along the Yangzte.
There are many other bars in that area too but I didn't find any with an international appeal. Lots of beer bars with live music though if you like that thing. Just taxi to the Marco Polo...
