Thanks Kyle...

And for others applying for a Z visa (work visa) in Bangkok, including your letter of invitation and work permit (both originals needed), applicants now need to provide:

1. an air ticket confirmation (copy of e--ticket is acceptable)

and this is the important one...

2. you MUST have a complete medical check up at THAI Government hospital (NOT A CLINIC),

In addition, this check up must follow the standard form MEDICAL CHECK UP form provided ONLY at the counter on 2nd floor entrance to the visa section. You cannot download this form as it is not on the China Embassy Thailand website. You need to collect it from the embassy yourself.

Also, the nearest THAI Government hospital to the China Embassy is Rama 9 Hospital. You can get a full medical check up (and they will fill in the China medical form for you) for the fee of THB 2,375. The check up takes 30 minutes and you can have your full results after 1.5hrs. Again, a clinic doctor's note/check up is NOT ACCEPTABLE (I wasted 1hr and THB 700 (THB 500 doctor's fee and THB 200 taxi there and back).

It's also advisable to have photocopies (mulitple) of the photo/details page of your passport, your current visa page, and your entry stamp page.

Good luck.

...I forgot to add that the China Embassy Medical Form, which must be completed and filled in at a THAI Government hospital, requires an identical photograph to the one affixed to your visa application.

You should advise/show and ensure the Thai medical staff that the hospital's official stamp must be placed over your photograph affixed to the China Embassy Medical Form.

That's it I think....I hope this and the aforementioned information on Z visa applicaiton in Bangkok will make certain that no one else wastes time and money.

Good Luck.
