off the beaten track tours

Question

We traveled with you a couple yeargs ago touring Yunnan province. Could you arrange a tour that includes places not on the major tours of China, like the Yuanyang Rice Terraces,  canal towns like Xitang, the place where the monastery on the cliff is (not sure of the name), Huangguoshu Falls, Pingyao, other beautiful nature places and smaller, less visited towns. What would you recommend for a second time traveler to China.

Hi, welcome to China again! Since you have travelled in Yunnan, I recommend you go to Xian this time. Actually there are many small but beautiful natural places here. You can go to Jinsi Grand Canyon in Shangluo, Zhuque National Forest Park in Huxian County, even the Hukou Waterfall in Yan'an etc. These are all scenic spots around Xian.  After that, you can transfer to Shanxi province to visit Pingyao Ancient City, Qiao's Compound and Wang's Compound, which are full of Chinese ancient culture.
