Can I board a ferryboat on Li River nearer Yangshou perhaps for a two hour trip rather than 4 hours. Are there any connecting buses from Guilin to this river jetty ? Whats the fare from here to Yangshou pl?

You can take long-distance bus from Guilin to Yangdi, then take bus to Yangdi cruise terminal and take ferry from Yangdi to Xingping.  Then you could take bus from Xingping to Yangshuo, The bus fare is CNY5.5 from Xingping to Yangshuo.
