What if I don't apply for a residence permit within the first 30 days?

Because of the immatriculation formalities of my university and the early flight I already booked, I cannot apply for a residence permit within the first 30 days. What if I apply two weeks later? (to change the flight would be very expensive and I already made some plans for my time in China)

I'm just confused by you. Actually, you shoudl apply for a residence permit within 30 days after your entry to China at the local public security bureau. I don't think it has something with your flight. Would you please tell your situation more detailedly?
