About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

name change documents

I changed my name a while ago through Deed Pole, so my current name does not match my name on my birth certificate (i was born outside the UK so needed to provide a birth certificate). I was told that my deed pole would have to be authenticated by the Legalisation Office (LO) of Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in order for the Chinese embassy to accept it. I also have a Statutory Declaration to prove my name change. could i use this instead?

No, I am afraid that you can not use the Satutory Declaration instead.
