Can i use both my old and new passport to enter China?

I am a malaysaian holding a china resident permit as my husband is working there. I renewed my passport but my resident permit is in the old passport. The passport number of my old passport is in the resident permit visa. I am flying on 1st july. Can i use both my old and new passport upon arrival at the china airport or should i get my resident permit done in Malaysia to show my new passport number before flying to china. Please assist me.
