About:China Visa

I have a dependent's visa through my dad...

Do I need to convert it to work visa if ever I land a job in China? If so, do I need to go back to Malaysia do to that?

So you mean your father works in China, and you have a dependent visa living in China. Right? if yes, you need to apply for a work visa in Malaysia if you want to work in China. The visa you hold now can not be converted into a work visa.
