checked-in luggage be locked on domestic flights? what about a backpack?

Hi!I was told all luggage on Chinese domestic flights must be locked. But how do you travel with a large backpack that is too large to be hand luggage and so must be checked in? There is no way to lock a backpack?

Yes, it must be checked in. Dot not worry about it. It can be locked. However, considering about the safety of your luggage, you'd better take those valued things with you on the plane.
