Do I need a visa if I stay for 9 hrs inside the airport waiting for my flight ??

I have booked a ticket of southern china airline to back to my country from Japan to Nepal .. I have two transaction to change in china . One from shanghai to kuanming and kuanming to Nepal and seems my kuanming flight is too late so I have wait for my flight for 9 hrs so for this do I need visa ??? Hoping to hear a soon reply thank u in advance ..

Since you will transit two cities of China (Shanghai and Kuanming), a transit visa is needed.
