car rental in Japan with German and Chinese drivers licence

Dear Madam, dear Sir,
We are German passport-holders living in Beijing. We plan to travel in Japan this summer and would like to rent a car. We have German drivers licenses and a Chinese. In the internet I read we can rent a car if we had our drivers licence officially translated. Where can we get a translation of our drivers license in Beijing?
Thank you and best wishes
Bettina

I think you may get some practical help from the local public security Bureau when you are in Beijing.
