transit visa to china

Question

Hello, am Thomas, am invited by the Costa Crociere for three months service in the ship Costa Victoria. I have to embark the ship on 27th June 2012 from Shanghai. At present i have an Italian soggiorno (  I am Indian) valid up to 16th December 2012.  I would like to know  what all formalities I should follow for obtaining the necessary travel documents.

You have to apply for a China visa from the China visa application service center in Rome with your original passport, completed china visa application form, invitation letter from Costa Crociere.
