china tour bought on the internet directly from china

I am traveling to washington in sept 2012 and then to china from washington on a tour bought in the internet directly from china. Can I get visa to china with such tour plus the airfare confirmation? Also what would be the best time to get visa because of 3 month time limitation?

The best time to apply a visa is one or two months before your departure time to China. You need to submit your passport, application form, round-tickets and invitation letter. To remind you, the invitation letter is provided by the tour organizer.
