Is the visa application process different for a Malawian passport holder?

I am moving to Qingdao, China, in August with my two children. I will be teaching at Qingdao Amerasia International School. QAIS is applying for a Foreign Expert Certificate Visa on my behalf. They have asked for a copy of my passport and my children's passports. My son and I both have Canadian passports. My daughter however, has dual citizenship of both Canada and Malawi. She is three years old and was born in Malawi. She has a Malawian passport and a Malawian birth certificate. Will that make a difference when applying for our visa? She does have her Canadian Citizenship Certificate, but she won't have a Canadian Passport until next year.

As part of the list of documents QAIS need, they have also asked for a digital passport sized photo of myself, and my two children. I have a passport photo of myself and my daughter already. Can I just scan the photos to email them, or do I need to have the photos retaken.

Hi,Erin,

You can apply visa for your daughter with her Malawian passport. For her visa. The procedure and required documents are almost the same, but you need to submit an extra application form (V2011B),her Canadian citizenship Certicficate and her Certificate of Birth.

As to the photo, you just need to make sure that the photos meet the size requirements and was taken within 6 months.

Hope you get your visas successfuly!
