Details about getting a family holiday visa to China.

Dear sir/ ma,
I want to know what it requires of me getting Chinese visa for myself, husband and three children on holiday or tourism to China. It is the decision of the family to go on holiday to China as a part of education. I will be glad to know what to do in order to avoid illegal actions or falling into wrong hands. We are planing to go in August for three week.

1. You need the following documents:
(1)One completed visa application form(V.2011A) with a recently taken passport photo stuck on it;
(2)The original passport with at least six months validity and two blank pages;
(3)Photocopy of your passport data page and all the previous Chinese visas;
(4)round-way air tickets and hotel orders;
(5)proof of your economic status;You should provide proof that you can afford all the expenses of the tour.
(6)Any other document which the Chinese-Consulate General views necessary.

2.You should submit all the above-mentioned documents to book appointment on on Tuesday or Thursday (3pm-5pm, except public holidays)in the visa office.

3.At the appointed date, you in person(except holders of diplomatic and official passports) should come to the Embassy for interview. If you passes the interview, you will get a pick-up form which specifies a date of collection. However, to pass the interview does not necessarily mean that you could obtain a visa.

4. At the date of collection, yourself (or someone on behalf) shall come to the Embassy with the pick-up form, to check the final result. Provided that you get granted visa, you should pay visa fee with an ATM card or debit card in the visa hall, before picking up passport.

5. Regular processing time is one to two weeks(5000 naira); express processing time is three or four days with an extra 4000 naira; and extra express service charging an extra 6000 naira allows you picking up visa on the second day.

Dear Melissa,
Thanks for the answer provided for my question. What if I have never obtained Chinese visa before?
But it was requested I should provide the pages of the Chinese visas I had before which I had never had anyway. We are going on a family tour for the holiday which we have not done anyway. Kindly put me through to avoid embarrassment.
Thank you.
