Do I need a sponsor for a transit visa?

I have dual citizenship (Canada and Sri Lanka) but the passport I'm traveling with (Sir-Lankan) requires a transit visa. Do I need a sponsor for a transit visa?

You do need a transit visa, but sponsor is not needed to apply for a transit visa.

Yes u need a visa for HK. You can apply for it at your local Chinese visa office, just as you would for one to the mainland.
