About:Visa Application for Children Born in US with Chinese Parents

Since I'm already 18+ do I still require my Dad's passport to apply for a Visa ?

Both my parents are from Taiwan, so that should mean they are of Chinese descent. I am not sure if I can just apply for it or if I still require their info. Can't I just apply for a regular Traveler's Visa ?

Also since the Embassy is in DC ... I need to go all the way to DC just to apply for a Visa in person ?
There isn't one in WA or TX ?

If you just apply for a single entry China tourist visa, no need to provide your parents's passport. You may either submit your application in person, or you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to submit your application at the visa office. But you may be required to present at the visa office for aninterview or verification of the signature on application documents by the embassy.
