Applying a Visa to China for a French passport Holder

Hello, we heard,, it could be difficult for us to get one, we're on a 8 months trip, with a flight from Guangzhou to Kuala Lumpur end of May ! To go back from there home !
I believe, we have to fill the form V 2011A and to go early in the morning, 46 Hoang Dieu Road, Hanoi. Is that right ?
