No matter when you plan to get the visa, I advise you apply for the visa around one month in advance, since you can't be sure that you will be granted the visa as what you expected. Maybe you haven't submit the right documents or there is somthing wrong with the documents you submitted. As a result, you will have to re-apply for the visa.
