I'm a little bit confused by you. You will visit China first, then go to Hk, and then re-enter China, am I right? could you please clear it?

No, just leaving China and entering Hong Kong, not reentering China. Hong Kong does not require a visa? If so, I do not need a reentry as Hong Kong regarded as separate from China?

Hk SAR has its own immigration rules different from mainland China. You are right that you don't need a visa to HK. Thus, you may just apply for a single entry China visa.
